Address | Strada del Sempione |
On the state road of the Simplon, just beyond the San Giovanni's tunnel, stands the Roman bridge over the Diveria.
It is called the "new" bridge, because it was built in 1300 a.C. to replace the Augustan bridge destroyed by flood of the torrent, the remains of which are still to be seen in the middle of the torrent, next to the tunnel.
The new bridge is perfect round arch with cobbled paving, well preserved and still usable.
